Our bottles are particularly unique because of a key feature including the innovative bottle mouthpiece (the cocooncap™), designed to deliver a smooth, safe, and drip-free drinking experience. We are the only stainless drink-ware company in the world, that has pioneered the design and development of a revolutionary one way valve system suitable for everyday stainless steel drink bottles.
All of our bottles are double-walled, vacuum insulated (also known as thermally insulated), as compared to many other inferior brands in the market. This means they are suitable for hot and cold drinks - perfect for year round use.
We also offer a unique choice of designs and colours on all of our stainless steel bottle products, exclusively produced by our creative team in Brisbane, Australia.
We recommend that all bottles equipped with our unique bottle mouthpiece (the cocooncap™), can be safely used by children from the age of 12 months. Of course, you need to check if the contents of your bottle contain fluids of the right temperature for your child. We recommend using the screw top lid if you are wanting to store hot beverages. As with any product, we recommend parental supervision for children aged 1-3 years of age.
We know that the flow of liquids out of your bottle is important. Therefore, we only recommend filling your ecococoon water bottle to the shoulder as this will enable a small air pocket at the top of the bottle to assist with the flow.
Our CocoonCaps have a one way valve and you will have to suck to start the liquid flowing. Therefore, if you have to really suck on the mouthpiece to get the liquid to start flowing, then your mouthpiece is on too tight, therefore we suggest loosening it ever so slightly.
All ecococoon bottles and cups use non-toxic paints which are safe for children. We have vigorously tested and trialled a range of different paint options that did not contain harmful chemicals but were durable enough for everyday use. Occasionally, we hear stories that their child has chewed on a bottle or cup and ingested some of the surface paint. Please don't worry if this occurs, as the paint is non toxic and safe. We do however recommend our cups or bottles with a plain finish, for those children who love to chew!
We recommend that you hand-wash all of your ecococoon products in hot / soapy to ensure maximum longevity of your product. Rinse the product in hot water before drip drying.
Always give the mouthpiece a good shake to ensure all water is removed from the spout and rims.
Some of our products have been specifically designed and engineered to tolerate dishwashers , including the High Polished Stainless Steel cups, the Indestructible cups or the CoCoonCap.
Any of our products that are vacuum insulated or have paint or illustrations are not recommended for the dishwasher due to the high heat.
We do not recommend putting your drink bottle in the freezer as water to ice expansion may cause the damage to your bottle.
For further information, refer to Instructions for Care / Technical Specifications.
Yes – this is the big feature of our bottles!
We only recommend cold drinks for all of our cups, as they are not double walled insulated...and we would not want you to burn yourself!
Our double-walled vacuum insulated (also known as thermally insulated) drink bottles are perfect for cold or warm drinks as they keep cold for 24 hours and warm for 12 hours.
We recommend the use of the screw top lid with carabiner for hot liquids. The cocooncapTM is perfect for cold drinks.
Both cups and bottles are also resistant to fruit juice acids, sports drinks, alcohol, and essentially any beverage.
Absolutely no way! ecococoon products do not contain BPA or other harmful toxins including bisphynol-A and phthalates, etc. This is fundamentally why we choose stainless steel over plastic or aluminium to make our water bottles and cups. The CocoonCap is made from PP5 (polypropylene) and the soft touch mouthpiece is also PP however in a different state and they are also BPA free. PP is a benign plastic suitable for humans and is completely safe.
The CocoonCap™ (bottle mouthpiece) has been industrially designed and approved by a reputable medical company based in the United States. The product has been rigorously tested and is compliant to international health and safety standards, making it one of the safest bottle mouthpieces ever created. As there are no external moving parts, there is no risk of a small piece being dislodged from the mouthpiece into a child’s mouth. The 4 cross hair mould inbuilt in the soft touch mouthpiece ensures complete safety. However, we always recommend that children are supervised by adults whilst using any of our products.
Hand-wash your covers in cold or warm water or a gentle cycle in a washing machine. Air (line) dry only.
Do not place your cover in a dryer as this can permanently damage the product.
Do not clean your bottle in the dishwasher. Dishwashers use strong detergents and high temperatures to clean, and thus will ruin the vacuum insulation and remove the protective layer that makes stainless steel durable and everlasting.
A stainless steel product washed in the dishwasher after a few cycles, may start to corrode, and will lose its lustre. It will also damage the paint coating on the bottle and cup.
Hand-wash your ecococoon products with gentle soap, rinse well and drip dry to make it last a lifetime!
If the only option to clean your cups is with the dishwasher, then we recommend the High Polished Stainless Steel cups including our Indestructible cup range and High Polished Stainless Steel bottles.
Because we only use non toxic paints on all our products which are safe for children and adults, this means the paintwork will not be as durable as conventional lead-based paints.
Unfortunately, dishwashers can be abrasive which will damage the coating of the paint. We therefore do not recommend the use of dishwashers for all our painted cups and bottles. If your only choice is to use a dishwasher, we suggest you try our range of plain stainless steel products as , these have been designed to withstand dishwashers!
Stainless steel is a generic term for a family of corrosion resistant alloy steels containing 10.5% or more chromium. The chromium reacts with oxygen in the air to form an invisible, protective chrome-oxide surface layer.
ecococoon provides cups and bottles in 18/8 or 304 stainless steel. The first number is the percentage of chromium that is contained in the stainless and the second number relates to the percentage of nickel.
Stainless steel is an incredibly durable material, with a high resistance to corrosion which will ensure that your ecococoon products last. This means resources are not wasted to keep making low-quality, disposable products. We have spare parts available so that when something wears out, you can easily replace a part.
Refilling and reusing a bottle instead of buying bottled water is good news for the environment and your wallet! DID YOU KNOW: an estimated 38 billion disposable water bottles end up in landfill each year? or that Australian's spend more than $500,000,000 a year on bottled water? Or that there is 46,000 pieces of plastic per square km of Ocean?
Our products are BPA free so are a healthier choice as plastic drink bottles can leach harmful chemicals.
All of our products are 100% recyclable, so your ecococoon stainless steel bottle can be easily recycled at the end of it's useful life.
Yes, all of our stainless steel products are 100% recyclable. Our cups and bottles are made up of around 50% recycled material of which approximately 50% originates from end-of-life products and about 50% comes from manufacturing processes.
A common misconception about stainless steel is that it is not affected by corrosion. And while the name correctly signifies the rust resistant properties of the metal, "stain-less" is not 100% "stain-proof". The corrosion resistant properties of stainless steel depends on the amount of chromium and nickel present in the metal, and the way the metal is handled in day to day applications.
18/8 stainless steel is the most common form of stainless steel used in everyday commercial applications, including drink-ware, kitchenware, kitchen sinks, etc. This represents 18% chromium, and 8% nickel. 18/10 stainless steel is a higher grade product with more corrosion resistant properties, but is more expensive to manufacture and generally only used in specific applications (e.g. engineering and medical sectors).
Corrosion is also caused by contaminants settling on the surface of the metal which damages the thin protective layer of stainless steel (against oxygen which attracts the metal). For instance, chemicals used in dish-washing detergents can cause your stainless steel product to corrode on the surface.
If your ecococoon product appears to have rusted in some areas, it’s likely caused by the electropolishing process, which makes the surface of the metal shiny and smooth. At times electrolytes left on the surface of stainless steel may turn to a rust colour, however this is harmless.
How to remove surface rust:
The “rust” formed on the surface can easily be removed with gentle soap or with lemon or lime. Fortunately, stainless steel has a remarkable “self-healing” property, making the product as durable and beautiful as before.
Essentially, only gold, platinum, and palladium are “corrosion resistant” and tolerant to excessive wear and tear, chemicals, etc.
